Review from notes (10/10/09)
A - dark garnet red with a tan, well-formed head. Very clear beer. Laces well. 4.5
S - Biscuits, toffee, burnt sugar and caramel. Hint of vanilla and oak, but very mild. 4.0
T - lots of caramel and a touch of oak and vanilla. Slight hints of blackberries and toffee in the finish. 4.0
M - medium bodied and well carbonated. Smooth and delicious. 4.0
D - Wow, I like this. Please, sir. Can I have some more? 4.5
Overall - I found this to be a good example of how subtle flavors can do well for beers. Not everything needs to be in your face and intense. This is flavorful and well balanced.
