We pour a reddish, cider-colored brew. It holds a one finger head of large light brown bubbles. This retains nicely leaving a big aggregate of bubbles to one side of the glass. Lacing is thick and sheeted. There is a thorough haze to the drink, and carbonation is medium. The nose is boozy, with caramel and adjuncty malts. The hops are lighter than expected with a light citrus quality. There is a red apple graininess, along with some mossy grassiness. Our first impression is “Holy metallics”. As we sip, the hops are nicely present up front in the form of florals and dirty earthiness. Booze comes in quickly to cut the hops with a synthetic bitterness, while more adjuncty grain pulls us to the middle. Here there is a lot more booziness, with caramel grain, and very bitter adjuncts. There is a faint peak of white sugars, moving us to a metallic and hoppy finish. The hops here are grassy and bitter, with mineral florals. The aftertaste is thick with huge coppery metallics, salty grain, and charcoaly adjuncts. The body is medium, and the carbonation is lower. The mouth is left bone dry, with coating, metallic astringency. Otherwise, the feel to the beer is a bit watery, with little froth or smack. The abv is unknown, and the beer drinks decently.
Overall, what we enjoyed most about this brew was the hoppiness throughout the flavoring. Per the bottle it doesn’t really taste like a hyped up Caged Alpha Monkey. The citrus and spunk of that is lost in the overdone grain bill. Metallics crash in hard, both eliminating all other flavor, and destroying the palate with an insane coating. The beer is okay, but doesn’t live up to the competitively hyped guidelines of the style.

22oz bottle at fridge temp. poured into a SA perfect pint glass, split with friends. no freshness date.
pours out a clear golden, slight orange color with an average looking off white head, only bits of lacing.
buttery grains are what i pick up mostly in the aroma. slightly soapy. a muted herbal, slight earthy, citric hop behind the malt.
malty? again with the buttery grains. an herbal, slight earthy hop behind that with maybe a hint of citric rind.
smooth, but just not enough bitterness to really call this a DIPA.
im guessing this has to be old because a regular caged alpha monkey is hoppier than this. another CB's dissapointment.

This caught my eye at tap and mallet after not seeing it on the list. 12 oz pour for 5.50
A- a nice golden/honey color with an off white head. decent retention and lacing.
S- hops. hops. pine. hops.
T- I imagine this is what hopped up motor oil tastes like, but in a good way. Very piney and thick. Astringent.
M- Bitter but a quick finish. Doesn't linger or play on the tongue much.
O- A one dimensional hop bomb. Delicious, but nothing mind blowing. Another good beer in the CB's signature series.
Serving type: on-tap

Poured a nice clear copper with a decent white head that faded a bit quick but left a generous amount of lacing.
Smell is resinous with a hint of orange a bit subdued for its billing
Taste is massive pine resin a bit of citrus rind a bit soapy, don't pick up much malt.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied fitting for the brew doesn't add or take away.
Overall its a decent beer but nothing world class, most BA hop junkies would likely rate this lower than me.
My gf's review comments - Just write delicious, looks delicious, smells delicious, tastes delicious. Delicious, delicious, delicious.
Notes from bottle: Caged Alpha Monkey recipe tripled, malts and hops tripled.
