Poured into a 22oz nonic a clear rich amber with a thinner but well sustained off white head,aromas were a little light,mainly alcohol dipped dark fruit and sweet caramel.Obviously malt driven with notes of caramle and brown sugar up front,a sweet warming alcohol notes follows into an appetizing finish.A decent old ale it is warming and malt driven.

I passed this one by quite a few times... decided to give it a try tonight.

Pours a bright amber color, with a decent off white head.

Aromas are very malty, kind of cola like, dark fruits, and some earthy pine hops.

A flavorful old ale that isn't too strong. Some subtle dark fruit flavors, some oak, booze, smoke, and a bit of a creamy sweet flavor. Finish is earthy, with biting pine malts, and a touch of warmth from the alcohol. All in all, a bit soft, but the flavors are still pretty good.

Mouthfeel is nice and full.

Drinkability is pretty good. Not a home run, but it's tasty, and surprisingly easy to sip. It seems like the people at Butte Creek are starting to brew some much better beers lately...

This beer was a nice brownish red with a small head and no lacing was left in the glass. The smell was of dried fruit, the alcohol was somewhat evident and there was a belgian-like smell. The taste was of raisens, apricots, brownw sugar among other things and the abv was detectable here as well. This was a smooth beer with a little burn in the aftertaste. Overall a good beer of the style that I would try again.

Pours an auburn color with a paper thin head that quickly becomes nil. Little to no lacing. It didn't look bad but it didn't increase my heartrate either.
Nice earthy sweet malty aroma. Made it hard to pull from the nose.
The flavor follows the aroma well. Very earthy. Very sweet. Big kick of alcohol in the finish.
Good mouthfeel maybe a bit light for the style.
One of the more drinkable Old Ales I've had. I think the lighter mouthfeel contributed to this.
It was a good beer that I'd drink again but I'm not rushing to my local bottle shop looking for more.

Garnet tinged mahogany in color with a sizzling beige head that quickly fades into a very thin ring, no lace.

Aroma is sweet, malty, and has plenty of fruity notes.

Flavor starts with lots of malt and caramel, with berries, ripe apple, and dried fruit. As it warms, roasty cocoa, leather, and toasted bread flavors come out. Just enough hops in the finish to provide balance.

Body is medium, sticky, and smooth. It's strong tasting, so no more than one bomber per sitting. This is a good example of the style, it definately has the right flavors and mouthfeel.

Pours a hazy dark orange with a frothy off-white head that diminished to a ring. Aroma is of strong burnt caramel with some alcohol present. The taste is surprisingly sweet for an old ale. Deeply undertoned earthy hops provide a solid backbone as well. The beer was slightly heavy with some alcohol present, but no where near as overbearing as other beers of this style such a Bell's Third Coast and Eel River's Tripel Exultation. This beer is very drinkable for the style.
