Thanks to rayjay who not only gave me the bottle in Secret Santa but brewed it as well.
Pours a very dark copper with a beautiful off white head that lasts and lasts. Tons of sticky lace coat the glass.
Smells sweet and dark, lots of caramel and biscuit.
Taste is very sweet, lots of caramel to match the smell, sweet fruits, date and fig. Very juicy. Somewhat dry in the finish with a bunch of citrus and a very slight floral note.
Super smooth mouthfeel, light carbonation.
This is exactly the kind of DIPA I like. Balanced well with a lot of malt to counter the massive hops. Everything comes together and makes you want another sip.

I've never been a big fan of the regular Butte Creek Mt. Shasta Ale, but I like DIPAs, so I will give this one a shot.
Pours a light amber color, with a nice white head on top.
Aromas are a bit sweet, tea like, and with some citrus hop notes.
Taste is quite dry. There is some underlying bitterness, some grapefruit flavors, and a mineral bite on the finish. Some nice caramel flavors help balance this out fairly well.
Mouthfeel is good. Nice and full in the mouth, good carbonation, and a nice lingering finish.
Drinkability is not bad... this is a pretty good DIPA. Some pretty nice flavors that aren't too overpowering, but the hop notes are a bit off for my tastes, and don't quite stack up to from others in the same style. With that said, this is still an above average beer, that is worth a try.
