Butte Creek is really playing up this Mt. Shasta angle.
Beer pours a dark amber color with a nice head.
Smells a bit dusty, with a roasted nut aroma.
Flavors are bright, crisp and clean. But a bit on the light side for a Winter Warmer. Some dark fruit flavors, roasted malts, a bit of dark sugary sweetness.
Mouthfeel is good. But like the flavors, seems a bit thin for the style.
Drinkability is good. This is a tasty, yet somewhat lighter Winter Warmer. I would never has guessed that this is an 8.1% ABV beer.
