.5L, best before July 2011. Bio (organic), obergärig (top-fermenting) Kellerbier.
Pours a hazy, effervescent gold with several large, unattractive floaties that look more like pieces of hops than yeast chunkies (?). Head is fizzy, lackluster and short-lived. No lacing.
Aroma has typical, sulfuric German hop funk, along with some leafy tea notes.
The flavor is fine, just very simple and swift. Hops are lightly citrusy, though mainly tea-like and earthy. Very clean. Little malt flavor, just some sweetness. Hardly any aftertaste, and the high, soda-like carbonation and thin mouthfeel help make this beer very low-impact.
This beer is like a disappearing act on the palate: it's there and then it's suddenly gone. Average at best.
