33cl bottle received from Erzengel in trade, cheers mate. Poured into seidel
BBE 26 Oct 2011
A- Dark golden body with excellent clarity. 3 finger head reduces to 1 finger which retains well with good lacing. Not the expected appearance! A little research on the brewery website states this is a heller doppelbock which explains the pale appearance.
S- Just post pour, big waft of freshing baked bread. Doughly malts and a hint of green apple.
T- Subtle toastier malts on the tongue, a creamy white chocolate quality. Finish is full and smooth, no hint of abv at all.
M- Medium carbonation, full body, smooth.
D- Its not a doppelbock.Ive not reviewed according to style as i think its a good beer and reviewing to style would signify its a crap beer cus it doesnt taste like a doppelbock. The abv is right but the appearance, smell and palate dont resemble doppelbock. I kept thinking its a heller/mai bock without the drier hoppier finish than a doppel. Dont think i can put this one under a style really. It tastes and looks good and has a lovely doughy malt aroma. Its good stuff but beware, deceptively smooth.

This is overall a quit good Doppelbock. I got thid beer in a trade with Erzengel, thanks Gabriel. He traded a bunch of beers from Vormann with me. Best before october 2011
Poured in my Struise glass this beer looks ok. Fluid is a bit darker yellow and has some light carbonation. Two fingers head.
Soft and round taste. Neutral smell, not much going on. The used hops are good, not too bitter. The plus with this beer is the ABV. With 8 percent this beer gets a bit more body.
