3 finger toasted marshmallow head on a dark brown body. Light and sweet on the nose; cola, caramel, vanilla, a few faint citrus notes. Taste is toasty and sweet but mostly bitter; burnt bread, caramel, a bit of cocoa, bitter hops, and coffee notes on the finish. Feel is smooth and crisp. Great balance, refreshing, bitter.

16oz tallboy can received via the generosity of Dimidiata. Per the stamp on the bottom of the can, this was canned on March 22, 2022.
Poured into my Oly pilsener glass, this was a dark brown color, and took on a dark ruby hue when held up to light. Good sized, tan, sudsy head, lots of lace.
Roasty dark malts initially dominated the nose. As it warmed, there was also a grassy hop aroma, but the malts remained the main component of the smell.
Kinda reminds me of a schwarzbier, but with a more herbal, hoppy bite to things.
Light and crisp in the mouth feel.
Really easy drinking beer that seemed unaffected by it's late winter canning. I really dig it. It's flavorful and and refreshing, just what the doctor ordered on a day that will almost certainly top 100°. Thanks, Christine!

Moonlight always nails the carb and feel of their beers. They always bring me back to a time and a place, especially their more European focused styles. This beer totally hits the spot with it essentially smoothing out the somewhat overly bitter roast I get from death and taxes. If that beer was too much for you, then give this one a shot.

Brown bready-biscuity malty, hint of cocoa powder, and hint of lemon citrus nose on this one! Taste follows with a silky smooth, dark bready, roasty malty finish. This is a combo of Reality Czeck and Death & Taxes and it's delicious...but, hard to live up to how great those two are! Good stuff!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours dark mahogany brown with a frothy cappuccino brown head that settles to a light layer and
S: Roasty, black coffee, char and a touch of smoke, earthy, toasty, subtle grassy, floral, and herbal notes, and a hint of dark sugar.
T: Follows the nose initially, roasty, toasty, black coffee, a bit earthy, light char and a hint of smoke and chocolate, before you get a strong hit of grassy, floral, and slightly spicy herbal notes, plus some faint fruity notes, plum, peach, apricot, and lemon, and rounded out with a hint of dark sugar.
M: On the lighter side of medium body, somewhat lively moderate carbonation, slightly creamy.
O: Allegedly a recipe mix of Reality Czech and Death & Taxes. If you let it open up for a couple minutes you can definitely pick out those elements. Another fantastic lager from Moonlight!

Imagine a life worth living… Go for it. Dive in like you’re a damn Greek god going for his morning wash. Feel that moment. Think that you can pull Aphrodite at the club, and live as best as you can. And when I drink this beer, I feel like all of this is possible.
I feel.

Pours a dark brown color that is largely opaque in the glass due to the darkness of the color. However, when held up to the light the beer has excellent clarity. Thick three finger head forms on the beer with a normal pour. Head slowly dissolves leaving lessening layers of velvety foam on the beer. Foamy lacing coats the glass as the head recedes and as the beer is consumed.
Aroma has notes of bready malts, some light toasted, almost roasted notes, cocoa, and some earthy, floral hops coming through on the back end.
Taste has notes of lightly roasted bready malts, some dark pumpernickel, cocoa, a touch of earthy, nutty malts and a mild, but present, floral, earthy hop note on the back end of the beer. So much complexity comes through in the flavors.
Feel is light to medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, slightly powdery feeling.
Overall this is an incredible beer - everything about this is so well crafted. Another homerun of a lager from Moonlight Brewing Co.

Thanks, Chris.
Side by side with Death and Taxes, this looks awfully similar. A very dark brown, black almost, with a lovely beige head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is a hoppier, slightly less roasty D&T, with lemon and mildly earthy hops pairing well with a more chocolate and cocoa forward malt base. The palate opens with a mild sweetness along with a moderate roast and hop bitterness. The D&T is less hoppy and more roasty, this has a lemon hop flavor that really works with the mild sweetness and chocolate, making it dessert like. The mid palate is a hair watery. Medium light in body, softly and creamily carbonated, this beer is a hair watery on the finish with lingering roast and lemon hop flavor. Excellent stuff.
