A modern pils is not something I typically go for, but this is nicely done. There is a nice, rustic pils malt character, grainy and with pleasing depth with the modern hop profile working nicely. Floral, fruity, delicate and actually restrained. Light, crisp, drying, refreshing.

Clear golden amber beer with mashed potato foam in the narrow Zunft Kölsch glass. Light body and very spritzy on the tongue. Sharp and tangy but not acidic. Mellow malt to start with just enough lingering sweetness. Honeydew melon in the nose. Clean cucumber and melon taste with a touch of lime peel. This has a really pleasant aftertaste of grain and green fruit. Bitterness is modest, but enough to do the job. Overall this is a good example of restrained use of hops while creating a distinctive flavor in a light brew. From the 16 oz can purchased at at O'Shea Brewing. Dated 04/30/24.
