This Märzen-style Lager has light malty notes of biscuit, and a flavor so delicately balanced it's like riding a unicycle on a tightrope.

Picked up four pint cans as part of a mixed case from the brewery. Date on cans: 08/19/2025.
Pours a crystal clear amber, copper in color with a finger thick frothy white head on top. Decent head retention, though it does fade to a thin layer of lacing that coats the glass as you drink. Carbonation looks moderate with some medium sized bubbles rising up. Pretty standard look for the style, with perhaps a slightly above average head appearance.
Aroma is sweet overall with notes of toasted biscuit, honey and fruit -- apple and lemon, mostly. There's also a hint of some banana/bubble gum in the background, and some sour/tartness. Smell is also on point, though I fear this might be too sweet for me, which is generally the case for the style.
The taste matches the aroma pretty much exactly. The malts are the focus here, as they should be, with a lightly toasted biscuit with some honey drizzled on top. There's a nice balance, however, with a solid lemon hoppiness that helps cut down a bit on the sweet. There are some other light fruit notes in there as well, apple especially. A bit lighter on flavor than I would have guessed, though I drank the rest of these out of the can and think it packs a bit more punch that way.
This is on the lighter side of medium bodied with a hint of chewiness and zesty carbonation. Maybe a bit too zesty for my taste, does make it feel a touch thin on the swallow. It does make it more drinkable, though, but that's not a huge perk for me as I generally wouldn't want more than one or two beers in this style.
Another solid offering from Moonlight. It's a slightly above average Märzen, I'd say, but not something I would personally seek out. This is my first Märzen of the year, a style that tends to mark the start of fall for me -- perhaps a bit early this year! Prost!
