Beer #17 in the KALEA Beer Advent Calendar. Thanks Nicole and Kevin. Best before 20.05.2020. Served at cellar temperature into a KALEA tasting glass.
Appearance - Clear, dark golden hued brew with plenty of bubbles and capped with a finger and a half of head. Modest head retention, but a good looking beer nonetheless.
Smell - Some grain, clean and otherwise devoid of aroma. A touch of sweetness and a suggestion of apple skins.
Taste - Nothing off, but nothing really here. Some husks of grain and a touch of bitterness. Otherwise watery.
Mouthfeel - Medium-light bodied, good carbonation.
Overall - Not much to write home about, this Festbier just doesn't pack a whole lot of flavor and while there's nothing wrong with it (no metallic notes) it just doesn't do it. One of the weaker entries in the Advent Calendar.

330ml bottle, poured into La Chouffe tulip.
A: Very much like German apple juice, golden, clear, medium tanned head which faded quickly without leaving much lacing.
S: Rubber, grassy hops.
T: Charcoal, grass, slightly yeasty, bittersweet.
M: Moderate carbonation, medium body, smooth.
O: Had high hopes after the impressive Dunkel from the same brewer, pretty bland, hard to classify, but decent enough.
