Bomber dated 2/15/17 poured into a large glass. Pour was pitch black with no light coming through and a tan head that stuck around throughout leaving minimal lacing behind. The smell is rich roasted malts, dark fruits, raisins, leather, cocoa. The taste is almost identical to the smell, with a pinch of saltiness. Feel was light and smooth fir the style. Overall not bad at all fir a 85 degree summer night!

Purchased today at Bay Shore Bev, Bay Shore NY
Bottle tells me it was bottled "8/18/16" hmmm....about 9 months in the bottle...thanks for aging this bottle for me.
Pours the expected near black volor under a slim dark mocha and lasting cap, leaves low sheeting and decent looking fileds of lacing.
Milk chocolate sniff
More of the same on the palate, I'm getting mostly chocolate and nutty malts...I'd like to say I can pick up some oystery salinity....but...truthfully...its not happening
Decent enough chocolatey stout...smooth and tasty...

What a let down.. I had such high hopes for this.
Look: Pours a pitch black color that only generates one finger of head despite pouring aggressively straight down into the glass.
Smell: Not much... just briney sea water and roasted malt.
Feel: Watery. Thin. Low carbonation.
Taste: The base stout is simple but pretty decent. Roasted malt that's bittersweet and dry. A touch of floral hops, vanilla and cocoa.
Only on the aftertaste does the mineral flavor of oyster and seawater set in.
It's not as prolonged as a tasting experience as I would have expected and what little taste of oysters there is is quite odd - it gives the beer an off putting sandy, muddy taste. I'm not impressed at all.
Overall: I'm disappointed because they don't actually brew this with the part of the oyster that you eat, they brew it with oyster SHELLS. That's pretty pathetic considering Blue Point Long Island has some of the most coveted, delicious oysters in the world.
