That’s right, we brewed a seaweed beer. But don’t jump ship just yet — this is a big, American IPA. The seaweed adds a slightly salty finish to cut through the hops’ bitterness and cleanse your palate after each sip so you can continue to enjoy this 7.7% dry-hopped IPA.

Pours light amber with a 1/4 inch white head, which dissipates. Moderate lacing. Hazy.
Aroma is piney, floral, grassy, spicy.
Taste is salty, piney, orange zest, iron. Moderately bitter.
Medium bodied. Light carbonation. Dry finish.
Seaweed in a beer? Surprisingly, it works well as this is a good IPA.

Light copper color with a thick beige head with great retention and leaving a wall of laces.
Aroma with notes of caramel, stone fruit, pine and mild toast.
Flavor with notes of grapefruit, pine, tea leaves, a pinch of salt (probably because I know they put seaweed in the recipe), mild toasted malts, spices and some caramel. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 7.7% is well disguised.
Good “traditional” taste and hop forward American IPA with a very subtle salty nuance from the seaweed. I actually glad it did not reroute the taste of it.

Slightly hazy deep gold with a thin ring leaving sparse lacing..Soapy (?) hops on the nose..Taste is mostly hop oil, a hint of citrus..maybe a bit piney? I AM getting a hint of the saltiness from the seaweed halfway through the glass...Typical IPA viscosity with not too strong carbonation. A good near double IPA.

Pint on draft on the Cross Sound Ferry.
Appearance: Fairly clear gold. No head.
Aroma: Pine, hops. Some faint fruit.
Taste: Very bitter hops, lemon, and a noticeable salt note. Salt is saltier on the finish. Kind of a very bitter, hoppy IPA with a gose-esque salt kick.
Mouthfeel: A bit of a sipper due to the bitterness. Salty punch also makes it a little tough to rip through too fast.
Overall: Fun, slightly weird IPA. Sort of an IPA with a gose kick. I don’t get much seaweed, but I do get that sea salt kick. Fun beer.

Uhhh...where is the seaweed or salty sea brine flavor? If you're going to advertise seaweed, I would like to be able to detect it. Overall a decent IPA that fails in its main marketing scheme.

This is a beautiful beer. Clear and honey-colored. Wonderful, tall and frothy white head. Nice aroma...malty, caramel, sweet citrus, toast...very pleasant. The taste is balanced...nice malt tones underneath. Solid bitterness, lots of hop flavor. I don't get seaweed, but I do get a little salinity and the carbonation helps the flavor. Wonderful.
