Blooming with a clean malt flavor and just a sting of honey, Honey Robber is a medium-bodied cream ale with a uniquely warm, golden color. This crisp, refreshing brew features slight citrus floral notes from the addition of honey and a blend of 3 hops. Brewed with 6 different cereal grains, this take on the classic American style features honey “robbed” from mid-west beekeepers for our Long Island recipe.

12 oz bottle. . Pours a clear copper color with a nice head and bits of lacing. Aroma of malt, bit of grain and quite floral. Taste of malt sweetness, slightly herbal with subtle touch of honey.

A: crystal clear; medium gold in color; 1+ finger creamy ivory head that receded to a thin cap; very nice lacing;
S: honey dominates, with grass in the background;
T: follows the nose - grass is even further in the background; finish is mildly bitter and all honey;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: the honey is a little overwhelming for my taste:

A: The beer is clear light amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that died down and consistently left a short head covering the surface and lots of streaks of lacing running down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of honey are present in the nose along with hints of pale and pilsener malts.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of honey and pale malts. Neither sweetness nor bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a nice balance for a honey beer as you get some aromas and flavors of honey without any associated sweetness.

From a bottle, this brew is completely clear, a dark-gold honey colored liquid with a thin and fading head. The aroma has honey and pale malt. It is a throwback aroma to a time when there were too many honey beers on the market. The taste is sweet, full of honey, just a little bitterness, and some malt underneath. It is an interesting beer, flavorful, but a little too sweet for my taste. Full in body.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with lots of carbonation and a fizzy white head of foam. It smelled of honey and sweet caramel. Strong honey flavor, almost too much. Very sweet.

Long Island's original brewer. Pours golden with a big white head. Nose is mild with toasted malt and noble hops plus the expected whiff of honey. Broad, gentle and balanced in the sip. Sweet and uncomplicated, but also clean and crisp, which makes this easy to like

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Clear light golden amber pour. 1.5 fingers of fluffy white head. Falls fast... modest ring of lacing.
S: Honey and lightly toasted malts. Sweet and beer-ish.
T/F: Sweet toasted malts/grains. Mild honey sweetness. Mild hopping for bitterness... not much hop flavor. Slightly earthy. Fizzy carbonation... light bodied. Grains and honey at the finish.
O: A simple beer... on the sweet side but very drinkable. Better than I'd been expecting quite frankly. Nothing outstanding, but reasonably made.

Absolutely love it. I'm a huge fan of cream ales, though they can often be hit or miss. Honey Robber has a definite taste of honey, and is slightly sweetish. It goes down beautifully, and isn't overwhelming. I'm adding this one to my list of favorite creams!
