Clear, amber color. Small, white head. Malt, toffees, herbal hops and a hint of coconut. Balanced taste with pleasant hoppy bitterness. The coconut is barely noticeable and not sticking out.

Look: poured from 12oz bottle to a pint glass. pours deep brown with a slight ruby tint. originally has a full 1/2" tan head but it quickly dissipates leaving just a 1/16" line of foam. the beer has good clarity but no lacing whatsoever.
Smell: rich caramel, toffee, subtle toasted bready malts. Hints of raisins. Leathery yeast notes.
Taste: dark malt flavors like toffee and light caramel. these follow the aroma. some faint coconut sweetness is there but not as much as expected. medium to low bitterness. nothing really stands out.
Feel: medium full bodied, rich creamy texture. light carbonation and subdued astringency. Finishes smooth and short with just a slight alcohol warming at the end.
Overall: not a bad beer. not as bold as I expected. also expected much more coconut flavor since it is marketed as a "coconut doppelbock". despite this short coming its drinkable and there's nothing about it that stands out or annoys.

The coconut flavor was there, but not overpowering or too candy like. A smooth mouthfeel.

A: opaque; medium brown in color; 1 finger light beige head that receded to a thick collar; virtually no lacing;
S: nicely balanced between coconut and sweet malt;
M: not as balanced; coconut is predominant and tastes somewhat artificial; almost no bitterness;
M: medium bodied; moderate, effervescent carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: I just didn't like how the flavor came together;

Dark Brew. Quickly dissipating head. Smells like a stout. Overall I get almost NO coconut whatsoever. Maybe 3% out of 100% coconut flavor. What a letdown. Why is it so hard to have the description of the beer actually taste like it? When something is called "Coconator" I expect to taste a good amount of coconut...but...almost nothing.
