Fairly good Imperial IPA. Poured from a pint can into a pint glass, this beer has a hazy dull gold color, a medium sized foamy white head with better than average retention and some lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste include some piney hoppiness and a lesser amount of tropical fruit (mostly pineapple). Mouthfeel is moderately bitter with a resiny/pine aspect. Not a top shelf representation of the style but not bad either

On tap at a local bar. Beer is crystal clear, no signs of haze as claimed. Don't taste any Simcoe, just sweet spruce. A very odd beer.

Notes: DDH Hazy Double IPA at 8% ABV with spruce needles and Strata, Chinook, and Simcoe hops.
Look: Hazy golden, almost orange colored body beneath a finger's width of white foam. The initial head dropped rather quickly and appeared to be only slightly better than average but it never completely disapeared and then left some very good lacing - enough to bring its score back up.
Smell: Distinct aroma of spruce backed by hoppy fruitiness, a little grassiness and earthiness, and a bit of sweetish malt.
Taste: The taste brings some hop resins into the mix, along with more grassiness, herbal character, and earthiness than the aroma suggests. It's herbal, and also a bit "herbal", or "dank". It's certainly spruce-like as well, but there are Chinook hops involved with give off a lot of pine. The fruitiness remains with notes of mango, passionfruit, strawberry, and a hint of non-descript melon and citrus. A solid bitterness backs it and it finishes dry with bitterness holding out as the fruitiness, malt, and herbal character slowly fades.
Feel: Medium-full in body and creamy-smooth once the initial carbonation dies down.
Overall: A solid double IPA with more character than you might expect at the outset.
