Hazy, yellow color. Medium-sized, white head. Mango, juniper, and tropical fruits in the aroma. Starts sweet but herbal bitterness takes over at the end.

I am a big fan of trying an unknown brewery and I will frequently scavenge shelves of the local package store where one can "build your own 4 pack". Most of the time I taste odd combinations or repetitive notes but every once and a while, I taste one that is worth dusting off the old BA account to brag about. This was one.
I was immediately hit by the aroma, you smell enough grapefruit to expect that puckery citrusy first taste, but it doesn't hit you. Instead, you get a wonderfully balanced mix of bitter-less grapefruit and sweet earthy notes. I was truly caught off guard by the complex flavor of this beer. It is decently carbonated and poured with a thin lacy head. I had this out of a can with 25JUN21 BP 1203 on the bottom.
Side note and I am honestly not sure if this is even possible, but I swear I smelled a distant scent of marijuana initially. (I am not a smoker but know the smell).
Anyways, enjoy this one, very much worth a try.

“Illusion Series II”. Comet, Columbus, Simcoe Cryo.
Tall can, with “best by” dating on the bottom “25JUN21”
Nice looking hazed/juiced pour, fairly minor head, lacing etc.
Orange juice sniff.
Tasty and quite enjoyable orange juice infused brew, also notes of mango, lemon/lime....worthy DNEIPA from a local Long Island craft producer...

The process begins. A pint can has had its contents emptied into a clear Imperial pint glass. It's a juicy hop aroma that makes the first impression. The color is a murky dark blond with no transparency. Also not showing is any head nor lacing. But it does bring the aroma. The taste is just what the nose predicted. This is an epitome of a juicy NEIPA, with a supple and moderately sweet malt backbone. The hops run with that juiciness initially, then take a turn to a more earthy taste and finish pleasantly bitter. Maybe it's the bitterness than encourages the alcohol to come to the front at the end. Before that, it's barely noticed. Overall, this is an excellent NEIPA that runs toward the juicy side of the style.
