Pours a golden honey color, a few shades richer than your typical hefe. The weisse has a small pure white head that quickly settles into a slight ring. The aroma has the typical banana flavor from the hefe yeast. Quite nice. There is some light pepper notes as well as a touch of honey. The taste is unique. Starts off with your typical banana hefe flavor which is quickly cut by a sweet bready malt. There is some lemon and caramel notes as well as some pepper. The banana yeast flavor does stick around through the finish. The brew has a moderate feel with prickly carbonation, finishes sweet and spicy. An interesting take on a hefe. The beer has a good yeast strain which carries the banana flavor throughout the flavor profile. The rye adds a bready mix along with caramel sweetness. It's like two different beers. It's quite good, try it if you can find it.
