Any brewery searching for relevance has got to try their hand at the haze. Blue Point does more than try with their Hoptical Haze.
The cloudy golden ale comes capped with a creamy white froth and a juicy scent of tropical fruit, citrus, stone fruit and grassy herbs before greeting the palate with a rife cereal character laced with poundcake, honeysuckle and suggestions of sweet dough. Hops abound on the middle palate, sharing tropical flavors of mango with more apricot stone fruit character. Orange, red grapefruit and lime add complementary citrus before falling to a smooth bitterness of fresh spruce, hemp and grass clippings.
Fuller in body than its alcohol suggests, the creamy sweetness linger a little longer on the finish than expected but this aids in the beer's smooth and fruit impressions overall.

BB Date Sept 2023, so this might have been 4 months old?? The most redeeming quality of this beer was the look. Otherwise it was quite underwhelming. Weak nose, faint hints of lemon and citrus on the palate, medium mouthfeel, and a weird stale bread finish and aftertaste. Their Spectral Haze was much better, which isn't saying much.
