A dark, rich and hearty German Lager with a delightful bouquet and subtle sweetness. Available during the winter and into late spring, our Bock is best enjoyed with rich and hearty foods such as duck, goose, rabbit, salmon and other game foods.

Pours a slightly hazy brown/red, thin tan head forms, and sticks around for a while, not much lacing though. Smell is sweet, some caramel and chocolate, dry roast and citrus. Taste is sweet up front, some caramel and a hint of chocolate, roasty middle, citrus in the end. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with high carbonation, little bit too aggressive. Not bad at all.

Clear mahogany, my pint was poured with a thin tan head with a solid collar that remained for quite some time. Sweet, malty aroma with a caramel component. Lots of malt flavour, mild bitterness, mild licorice and cola character. Overly sweet in my opinion. Served with low carbonation, which made it feel fairly heavy. A bit syrupy and palate coating. Not as clean tasting as I would have hoped. It seems like it's a little under-attenuated.

Purchased 650 ml bottle from brewery. The label/name has changed to simply "Trafalger Bock", and it is really more of a heavier bock (than a double bock).

Deep reddish-black appearance, but filtered clear.

Malty aroma and taste (dark bread, raisin, nut, hint of chocolate). There's a pleasant noble-hop spicyness as well. Alcohol is REALLY well hidden.

Mouthfeel is moderate (a little light for a double). Carbonation is on the light side of moderate.

Exceptionally easy to drink, considering the alcohol content.

Unfortunately, it is not bottle conditioned, and may be a little over filtered.

One of their better brews, though watery and minimal taste. Chocolate malts, bit of bitterness. On sweet side, but not cloying. Dark though not overly attractive colour. Thin white head, lace. Bit of aroma. Sampled fresh at brewery. Could be improvement over the years.
