Mild ales were the backbone of nourishment for the English working class prior to the turn of the century. Trafalgar’s mild demonstrates that a light beer can be rich in malt flavour while being low in alcohol. This excellent, all-day summmer ale is a wonderful compliment to vegetable dishes and darker poultry such as turkey or duck.

Picked up from the Brewery; Best before Nov 06 (looks like they might pasteurize this one).
A: Light amber; slightly off-white head, no retention but a slight hint of lace.
S: Somewhat grainy with a touch of British hop & fruity esters (from the yeast).
T: Considerable amount of flavour for its strength. Taste is a little grainy with hints of bread, nut & caramel. A little british hop flavour (fuggle & golding?) with a hint of peppery spice as well (maybe an American hybrid?). The hop profile is overpowering, but it's fairly complex. Some fruity esters from the ale yeast round out the flavour.
M: Like sparkling mineral water. Very light. Carbonation is nicely on the light side of moderate.
D: Like water, but with a nice malt & hop flavour. :D
