Trafalgar has sourced local hop growers to produce this very special ale. Fresh hops are picked, rushed to the brewery and added to the beer all in the same day in a process called ‘wet hopping’. Freshly harvested hops impart much different flavour and aroma qualities to beer.

A nice finish, but not nearly as hoppy as I'd hoped it would be. Disappointing for the price premium. Agree with other reviews in labelling it "thin", as definitely a narrow flavour profile. However any Pale Ale that manages any flavour at all at 5% ABV is welcome in my world, so I'll certainly trial any future releases.

Bottled on September 20 and brewed on August 27 with hops harvested on the same day.

Pours a pale yellow with light-orange highlights and a thin white head that quickly recedes to a thin soapy cap.

Picking up very little in the nose aside from graininess and perhaps some faint leafy/citrus hops with some lemon and a touch of caramel which becomes slightly more pronounced as it warms.

Hops are rightfully dominant, although all of the flavours appear to be lacking in intensity. The hops provide a very clean and fresh floral/leafy bitterness. Light grain, biscuit, and corn flavours are also evident. Hints of fruit and lemon rind are detectable throughout and continue through the light bitter finish.

Pretty light-bodied, but with a pleasant and lightly creamy mouthfeel.

This is a very fresh and smooth beer, probably the most pleasant Trafalgar offering I've tried to date. However, I had higher hopes for this one and was wishing that it'd pack a much bigger hop punch; it had a great flavour profile, it just came off weak and watered down, which is too bad given its freshness.

Overall, quite refreshing but not worth the steep pricetag. At a lower pricepoint I'd gladly session a few of these in an evening though.

A- Pale yellowish gold, with medium carbonation, and quickly receeding head.

S- Floral hop notes, slightly grainy.

T- Delivers substantial hop taste, but lacks some of the hop bite I would have loved. Malts balance it, but I'm grateful that the hops were the focus. The hops had a quite crisp taste. This beer had a pretty clean taste to it. Reminds me of some of the organic ales I've tasted; lacking kick, but tasting pure.

The malt had an apple like taste to it and sweetened it up, making the brew pretty balanced overall.

M- Medium light body with carbonation that suits it well. Slightly creamy as well.

D- A little disappointing. I paid a fair amount for this, and it didn't impress me much. It mentioned the brew date on the label as well as the bottling date, and one thing that was cool was that it had a "hops picked" date, which was the same day as the brewing. I wish more breweries would do this. On the down side though, it saddened me to see the figures. It's only been bottled for 9 days now, and it just feels a bit weak, and lacks a certain something I'd expect from fresh beer.

For a pale ale it has it's share of hops and then some. I would almost classify this as an English IPA, but the bottle said "WET HOPPED PALE ALE", suggesting that it's only a Pale Ale.

Quite refreshing, and hits the spot, but it left me wanting more. All in all a great beer, but it didn't blow me away.
