Bypassed this one last year and let it sit in the cellar, foolishly believing that "strong ale" meant it was something that required it. Label was considerably different, now being a snow scene from a local artist.
Pours amber brown with a faint wisp of a head. No retention and minimal lacing from the cling on the side. Clearish, with only faint malty and fruity aromas.
Caramel, malty flavor that came off quite soda-like. Citrus and berries in the background and finished dry, with only a hint of hops.
Medium bodied, didn't feel creamy nor sticky, nor easy drinking, just sort of there.
Overall: Felt a bit blah after this one.
