Located in the heart of Moscow, just behind the Bolshoy Theater, this is a great place to go for some German brews. Located in the basement of a building in a courtyard off of a side street, it's not as hard to find as you think, as there are plenty of signs. The main room is big enough for about 120, with vaulted ceilings and a small bar on one side. There is also a banquet room, big enough to hold about 40, and a VIP room for about 15. White walls and light colored wooden tables and chairs everywhere. The place is clean and looks very well kept.

13 taps on the menu, although they did not have one of the beers I requested. Nine Germans, three Czechs and one Belgian (Hoegarden) were on offer, including Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr (the one they didn't have) Oktoberfest - on November 1. The staff was very friendly, although that might be related to the fact that I brought my six month old son with me. There were a surprising number of customers for 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. The beers came quite quickly, and were all served in the appropriate logo glassware and at the right temperature. The menu looked extensive, with lots of good looking German dishes. Prices were reasonable. Nice place - I'll be back.
