Atmosphere - I still don't know what all entertainment goes on here but it ranges from burlesque to roller derby. The pace is so unique in its look and feel. Just to see inside and walk around is almost worth a visit.

Service - The owner gave us everything we needed, was extremely accommodating, and knew his stuff. The conversation and explanation of the beers was incredible, one of the best I have ever received at any brewery.

Price - definitely get the sampler on your first visit...12 to try all of the beers (48oz worth) You may be able to get half pours on the sampler if the circumstances warrant.

Beer - I loved some, liked some, and didn't like some. Just how it should be. All of their beers are lightly carbonated (which I really like) and some of them have been aged for years to give them a great flavor.

Overall - I cannot wait to go back. You must try these beers and visit this place.

This place is located is a crappy area of town. I dont like going here because of this. I do sometimes go because it is a few blocks away for Chinatown Youth Center, where sometimes a decent punk band will stop by.

This place looks like no other brew pub I have ever been to. Inside is a small bar with about 6 beers on tap. past the bar is an oper area with a stage and a bunch of tables. I came once and there was a burlesque show going on and some roller derby event.

The beer is decent. Nothing to get too excited about. The have ad a bourbon aged beer on tap before, and that is nice, and unusual for Fresno.

The service is usually a little slow. I just feel like it takes a little too long for the bartender to aknowledge me, even if there are only a few people present.

Overall: I wouldnt go out of y way to go to this place, but if I am close by, I will usually stop in for a beer.

Ok, so I'm a Fresno native but had never heard of this place until checking BeerFly yesterday afternoon (kudos to whomever added it).

On to the review:
This place is located in an old warehouse-type building; it isn't much to look at from the outside. The inside has a funky setup, but they are in the process of renovating. There's a concert area in the back of the establishment with a dozen or so tables set up in front of it.

This place is indeed run by a couple of trolls. Yes, actual trolls... or maybe dwarves. They are straight outta Lord of the Rings! You shall see upon entering. The brewmasters were tending the bar and were extremely nice and personable. My dad and I conversed with them for the entire time we were there. This is a side job for them, and as a result the brewery is only OPEN THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY FROM 4:00-MIDNIGHT. They get pretty good entertainment on occasion and I guess the place can get pretty wild at times. When we were there, it was just us and the bartender/brewmaster. This was awkward at times, but I enjoyed his company.

There are only seven different beers available, all of which are brewed on the premises. The beers are decent but not great. The brewmaster was kind enough to let me sample the Russian Imperial Stout, the Porter, and the Sour Mash Red for free. That was a great gesture and allowed me to really get a feel for their beers. I also had a pint of Cluster Fuggle.

This was a cool little place with a ton of character. I definitely plan on going back next time I'm in town.

the atmosphere is where it's at here, it might not be for most but i enjoy the place quite a bit. it's run by a couple of guys that are often hanging out at the bar and remind me of some old and crusty dwarves or something. they're constantly upgrading the facility, probably by hand and are currently putting in what looks to be a new and much longer bar (the one currently there maybe seats about 10) with several tables in the entertainment area. they have live music and art shows almost every day they're open.

quality is mixed and match, i like the beers but they're nothing out of this world, the 1850's porter is their stand out and it's what i get when they have it. they have about 7-8 taps going and what's in them rotates every once in a while. i've known them to have a cream ale, red ale, brown ale, porter, a barley wine, russian imperial, vienna lager and a dopplebock. their meads are grade A. i've never had a better mead, they serve and sell bottles of standard mead, orange blossom mead and pommegranate, all are excellent. they also have a red wine which i don't care for really and a drink called "pulque" which is an agave wine, i guess maybe the precursor to tequila? that's low alcohol and sweetish and refreshing.

service is good and friendly but because most of the people in the bar are usually regulars sometimes you have to wait for a conversation to pan out to get another round. but i'm fine with that.

i already covered their selection.

the mead is the most affordable ranging from 10 bucks a bottle to 17 for the pommegranate. pints are 4 bucks and growler fills are 10 bucks or so.

pretty cool place.
