Purchased a 8oz sample for around $8.00 or so. Served at 7deg C in a wine glass
A- Pours a tiny brown head that is gone in a few minutes. Very dark black colour
S- Nice bourbon scent here
T- Bourbon and chocolate. Very nice and well blended. I see the bottle above says chili's however I did not get much of that at all. Touch if anything but bourbon does take over a brew pretty good..at least when it's done right.
M- Creamy good
O- Nice change from the regular bourbon barrel aged stouts out there. I like it
Food Pairing
Again bourbon barrel aged brews are difficult to pair to other than chocolate due to the heavy nature of the bourbon and chocolate
Enjoy

reviewed form notes, Cask Days 2015
Pitch black with a ring of bubbly tan head , no lace. Smell is full of chocolate and roast, oak and bourbon are secondary, a slight peppery burn on the nose as well, fudge. Taste is more roast and pepper forward, chocolate and bourbon, a bit of a rolos and a touch of alcohol. Lightly carbonated, medium body. Solid stuff, missed this one last year and glad I got to try it this time.

Mason jar at Cask Days.
A - Looks like Full City Double Tempest, as one would expect. Imagine a 14% cask stout; this looks like that.
S - This is way mellower than Full City Double Tempest. Bourbon and oak are dialed down significantly, with cocoa nibs front and center, and more of the base beers dark fruit character showing. Cherries are sort of subsumed into the latter. Quite enjoyable; while Full City Double Tempest seemed like it could have been higher than 14%, this seems less than that.
T - Taste is similar to the aroma at first blush, but reveals more bourbon, oak and roast in the finish, with lingering char and wood flavors. Lots of chocolate mid-palate, with fudge and dark fruits. Cherries are again kind of lost in the mix.
M - Similar to Full City Double Tempest. Thick, chewy, oily, and sticky. Less heat, but again, surprisingly little wood and tannins.
D - This was quite good. I enjoyed my 5oz pour and I'd happily order this again if it showed up at a Toronto bar. Not sure why cherries and chocolate muted the booze while Kona coffee amplified it. Or perhaps this was based on an older vintage of Double Tempest?

Had an El Jaguar at Cask Days 2014 that was barrel aged with chocolate (cocoa) and cherry. It was really impressive with with coffee and full rich stout character. Packed full of huge chocolate and coffee notes. A very full and quite heavy beer but one that came with serious flavours and a nice integration of the combined flavours. Really inspired, and was delicious at 14%, it is also shockingly drinkable, very well made.
