Pours opaque black without light penetrating even the edges of the glass. The chunky espresso head lasts the whole glass, coating it in lace trails. The aroma is of dark chocolate, fresh roasted coffee beans and butterscotch. The taste is chocolatey with lots of dark fruit notes. Roastyness and astringent black patent malt in the back. Light herbal hops provide some balance. A full bodied mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Malty fruity notes in the long off dry finish.
A very nice stout, but too sweet and not hoppy enough for the style. Still enjoyable and worth trying for stout or malty beer fans.
