On tap at the Amsterdam Brewstache Beerfest, into a plastic pint glass. A Citra kolsch.
Pours a clear, straw yellow with a nice thick white head and a some shreds of lacing. Nose has loads of typical Citra notes, mango, pineapple and other assorted tropical notes. Juicy. Light yeast and general kolsch qualities are sheltered beneath this, some graininess and pilsner character. Taste has more Citra flavour initially, again acting as a thick veil over the kolsch base. Some grainy and bready notes, a bit of a pilsner flavour with some wheat notes. Perhaps a touch tart? Or maybe I've misinterpreted that. Drying and subtle bitterness in the finish, refreshing with a very light body. Medium high carbonation with a crisp finish, I would've really enjoyed seeing this 4-5 months ago.
