Near black in colour, whispy tan head, not too much in the way of lace either. Smell is full of smoke and roast followed by a substantial red wine presence, oak, grape skins, pretty nice overall. Taste is sweet and roasty, lots of oak and red wine flavours, some smoke, a bit of cocoa as well, some lightly tart flavours as well. Light carbonation, medium mouthfeel, smooth drinker. Really solid stuff, tons of flavour and one of the highlights of Cask Days 2012.

Cask Days 2012. One of the better casks on today. Black bodied with a bubbly head. Fuller mouthfeel from the wine tannins (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon) that took over the show. Its integrated, there is a sweet stout there, but tastes as if right there on the wine. Mildly acidic but very drinkable.
