A - Very dark, slightly reddish light comes through. A bit of tan head settles, but does not last. Some yeast chucks settle to the bottom. Cola-esque.
S - Smells mostly of chocolate and cherries, much like a black forest cake. The berry smell gives it a slightly bitter/sour smell. Quite nice for a desert.
T - First comes the sweet taste of dark chocolate and dark red berries (cranberries, cherries and raspberries). This is followed by the bitterness of coffee which lasts quite long. The initial taste is quite nice, but the aftertaste gets progressively more unpleasant.
M - Seems to be a little over carbonated and yet thick and coating. It is an odd combination, but not entirely unpleasant.
D - Pretty decent but a little too strong and heavy to have too many.

Bottle: Poured a clear black color porter with a big foamy head with great retention and some lacing. Aroma of light dry coffee and some overcooked vegetables. Taste consists of semi-dry-coffee with some light black chocolate and some DMS which is shame. Body is definitely too thin for the style with some great carbonation. Definitely not a big success from my point of view.

341 mL brown bottle.

Black brew that has a red tint to it when held to the light. Thick light brown head that clings to the sides of the glass.

Aroma is of molasses and dark chocolate.

Lots of burnt sugar and molasses notes, bitter chocolate and hints of licorice. Some hops towards the end to balance things out. A bit on the sweet side at first but dries out towards the end. There is a slight acidity througout. Mouthfeel is watery and carbonation moderate.

Interesting offering from Schoune, but nothing to get too excited about.
