Appearance: Dark chestnut; cream colored, big head

Aroma: Sweet, roasted malt; dried fruit

Taste: Malty; creamy; very good balance between sweet and bitter; nice flavor, but a little thin

Remarks: tasted like it would be a good session beer

Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Flip-top half litre bottle poured into a stemmed tulip glass in ''Aufsturz', Berlin on 16 Apr 2011. The beer was way, way too cold.

It is a clear demierra brown, or ruby (the bar is dark).

Once the beer began to warm a little the smells started to come out, sweet molasses being the pick of the bunch, someone in my party claimed scorched Mango's, but his nose is strange!

The beer was dark chocolate semi-sweet with a hint of sourness adding to the complexity.

Medium bodied for such a strong, dark beer. Only two days left before it's best before date, but it seemed fine to me: not that I've had it before.

Overal just averge, just didn't feel right in all aspects.

On tap in Berlin at a Bar. I can't remember the name - perhaps it was Möbel Ohne.

Nice chocolate brown with an espresso colored 1.5 inch head that settled down to a thin film. Some lacing on the glass.

Bitter chocolate, toasted nuts, and dark malt. Some clean hop notes, but mostly malt. It is a schwarzbier.

A touch too watery for me, but still nice flavors. Mostly toasted malt and chocolate. The hops are well integrated, but not enough to give the classic clean finish.

A little watery, as noted before, but generally medium bodied. Not as dry as I would have liked - noted in the hops.

It's a fine beer, but there are clearly much better choices. Was part of my 70 beer experience in Berlin.
