Brick house uses heavy doses of Citra hops throughout the brewing process, producing a bold yet approachable beer redolent of tropical fruit and citrus. The finish is clean and dry while not being too bitter, making for a particularly refreshing IPA which pairs well with salads, seafood, and sandwiches.

This was a very poorly balanced IPA. Supposedly hopped with Citra, there was only the slightest hint of citrus and the finish overall was like a bitter Yuengling. Definitely much closer to an English IPA for sure. It tasted like a failed attempt at Founders Centennial. I only had half the pint may be all you need to know.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, hazy, caramel coloring with a frothy, light, off-white head. Nose of herbal spiced and cut grass forward, with an evergreen and lemon backbone. Woodsy nose. Flavors are pine tassel and evergreen forward, very woody, with grass, basil, and subtle resinous characteristics. Subtle caramel backbone, too. Light, slightly dry body, with an astringent, grassy, and hoppy aftertaste. The finish is dry. This is a different take on the style, which is interesting.

From the tap to the growler to a Mason jar.
A: No head on first pour, a decent head on second pour that dissipated quickly.
S: Cascade and a little sweetness
T: Slightly toasted sweetness, nice balance with hops
M: Close to zero carbonation, medium body
O: It's hard to get past the non-existant carbonation - maybe a bad carboy fill; otherwise, not typical of the IPA style, more of a solid pale ale. This would be a solid beer if it was better carbonated.
