All of the characteristics of our traditional Sledgehammer Stout (robust and full bodied, heavy mouthfeel with dark roastiness) with stronger chocolate notes balanced with vanilla and natural mint flavor.

A: Pours an opaque slightly thick jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy dark mocha colored head that quickly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering approximately 75% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of mint over the top of moderate aromas of roasted malts + chocolate malts. Light to moderate flavors of vanilla and lactose sweetness along with moderate aromas of dark chocolate.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of roasted + chocolate malts with a light to moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of vanilla, moderate flavors of dark chocolate, and slightly stronger than moderate flavors of mint. Hints of earthy hops and a light amount of roasty bitterness in the finish which fades fairly quickly leaving a lightly sweet chocolate mint flavor lingering .

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth though on the thin side for the style.

O: I enjoy the aroma of this beer more than I enjoyed the flavors of this one. Mouthfeel is definitely a bit thinner than I would want. Smells really good, taste is average for a mint chocolate stout. Drinks pretty easily with a well hidden alcohol.
