Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, muddled, amber-caramel coloring, with a thin halo of off-white head. Nose of rich caramel, hints of chocolate, and roasted notes. Flavors are richly sweet forward, with roasted caramel and chocolate characteristics, and a sugary sweet backbone. Very rich and cloying sweet aftertaste. Robust, smooth bodied, with a lingering sweetness in the finish.

Dark caramel red pour. No visible head when delivered. Very, very faing lacing. Little active carbonation.
Very weak nose, even after the beer warmed. Getting little more than a thin layer of malt.
Very dry beer. Abysmally dry. Slighly cloying finish as well. There is a little weak cream taste in the middle, like you would find in English tea. Ever so slightly sweet and mildly spicy in the finish. Very light tart cherries on the back end.
Thin body. Easy enough to drink, but just not my favorite.

a: 20 oz. "pint", deep hazy amber-brown in color and topped with a light layer of carbonation
s: grainy toasted malts with an undertone of caramel and that sweet toffeelike malt typical of the style, one of the more toasty reds out there - which works well to temper the sweetness, earthy hop aroma
m: medium carbonation and body, a bit prickly at first
t: dry and toasty malts temper a sweet toffee/caramel presence, toasted nuts, nice sweet/astringent contrast, earthy hop flavor and moderate bitterness, on the complex side for the style, nothing groundbreaking but certainly a unique version imo
d: easy, good for a couple
sampled while in the 'Ville for work after a couple pints of the weekly cask, reviewed from notes

Appearance: Clearish, garnet-hued body with a thin, bubbly, off-white head.
Smell: Scent of caramelized grains with notes of roast and maybe even coffee. Mild note of fruit.
Taste: Tasty 50/50 blend of roasted and toasted nuts with a light caramel sweetness and added pinch of cocoa powder. Light touch of fruit. A vaguely earthy, light bitterness comes in, making way for the dry, nutty, and again even a bit roasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Exhibiting some malt traits more commonly found in many fine brown ales, this hybrid, this lovable mutt brew takes what can be a mass-produced snoozefest of a style (I'm looking at you, Murphy's) and bolsters it with added depth and charm.
