A - pours a nice chestnut brown color with a ring of bubbles around the glass with tiny bubbles covering the surface

S - sweet caramel aroma with hints of brown sugar

T - nutty and sweet caramel malt flavor

M/D - a little thick to me and the nutty flavor was a bit overpowering. Good tasting but I don't know if I would want to drink many in a row.

AP: a semi-cloudyorange hued amber color, a rigorous pour made for a nice foamy all white head that disipated to a ring around the glass, very active and bubbly.

Nose: Mellow earthy malt scent gives way to a hearty and robust hop'ed scent.

Taste: A clean herbal and robust malt flavor with an earthy/semi-leafy and hearty hop that balances this one well. Slight hints of fruitieness and yeast pop out later on.

MF: light to medium body with a good crisp and clean lively bite. the malt and hop really seems to hit you at the back of the mouth with a good fresh bite.

DA: Brewer Bill Dunn rarely dissapoints with these excellent session beers.

Screw-top Elm City growler filled at the brewpub on 10/23/04, enjoyed on 10/24/04.

First imperial pint glass pours with an uneven, but airy in some spots, beige 1/2" head, which quickly dissipates, lacing delicately yet deliberately along the glass. Clear and reddish caramel in hue. Slight aroma of caramel malts with a hoppy kick. Taste is upfront with some husky grains, and balances it well with an appropriate amount of hops. Also a slight citrus note in there for the ride. Mouthfeel is smooth, and the drinkability is good also. Not the best alt out there, but nothing bad either, worthy of a try.
