Had a pint ($3.75) of this today at the Pub during lunch with Alewife and daughter Caitlin.
Poured a clear, vibrant mahogany color into the shaker glass. Had sporadic carbo here and there, and was topped by a thin, fine beige head, leaving some lace here and there in the glass. Nose was mild, with the smoky character being most evident. Some malt was present, little hopping, though it was the smoke which was most obvious. Body was almost, though not quite, medium, with some rough patches of carbo on the tongue.
Flavor has light, caramel malt sweetness right off the bat. Has a not-so-subtle smoky, peaty lean to it, which is the best aspect of this bier, imo. Has an ever-so-slight bit of floral hoppiness in the very dry finish. Not bad, but way too little sweetness present for my liking.
Prosit!

Had a 3 ounce sample at the brewpub. Served at the correct cool temperature for this style.
Nice mahogany color. Head never vanished while I tried samples of other beers.
Roasty malt aroma. slightly sweet smell with a little smoke. Smelled delicious. I took 4 or 5 wafts b/c it was so enjoyable.
Rich malt flavor first. Toasty, nutty with a slight smokey finish. Just a hint of honey in there somewhere. Nice balance - delicious.
Very smooth, silky and creamy with just the right amount of carbonation. Leaves me wanting another sip.
Excellent Scotch ale. Perfect true-to-style malty, roasty, mild smoke balance. When I was done with all of my other 3 oz samples I ordered another one of these. Got better with every sip. Highly recommended.
