Although I've been to many Oktoberfest at this fine Brewery here in Keene, I havn't reviewed the once-per-year brew until now.
This one looks pretty average overall, a clear, bubblly dull amber color with a small and thin white head that is gone pretty quick. yawn.
The nose is a bit more sour than i would like, usually the lager yeast is earthy and mildly sour, but this one smells a bit funky, almost like a wild yeast, which is a bit weird.
The flavor is a bit dissapointing, i'm looking for a robust maltiness, earthy yeasty goodness and a mild spicey hop too finish, but it's pretty muted...the yeast has run amock and made the flavor just too sour and funky. More malt please!! The feel is rather thin and crisy, but I look for a heftier feel, this brew is still pretty green...but very fresh.
honestly I had one to kick of my Oktoberfest but I quicky swited gears and went for the nee wild hop ale, which was much more to my likeing.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
