Sampled on August 15, 2009. It poured a good looking brown-black with a thin beige head but it did not seem to have any weight to it. The aroma was mainly of coffee and oatmeal. The mouthfeel was on the thin side. The taste had a decent balance of chocolate hops and ground coffee beans but it just seemed to be missing something.

AP: Pours dark brown/Black color, medium size tan head that dissipated rather quickly.

Smell: Roasty! with malts popping on through. Oak wood.

Taste: Malty but not classiclly sweet, rather bitter but in a nice "roasted nut" taste.

MF: Smooth, pretty carbonated for the style which makes it very refreshing for a dark stout.

Pretty dang drinkable, stouts can be "heavy" on the stomach sometimes, this one does not have that effect.

Had a pint with lunch today for $4.00

Brew were served black with a nice tan head that hung around for awhile.

Nose hinted of roasted malts.

Tasted was slightly roasted malts, not overly sweet, light hopping to balance things out.

Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied with some smoothness.

Overall a worthy effort, give it a shot if you like the style.
