After not being overly impressed with the Scottish Ale today, I opted for this 7%-er as my second pint with lunch at the pub.
Poured a slightly hazy chestnut color, with scant carbo rising within. Head was light tan, wispy and creamy, with decent lacing left behind. Nose was restrained, with some toffee malt present, but showing more strongly was a flowery, robust hoppiness. Body was nestled nicely in the medium range, and it passed fairly smoothly across the palate.
Subtle malts lead off, with a suggestion of light sweetness and toastiness present. Floral hops are pronounced and pleasurable, lingering nicely down the throat. Not a world-beater, but decently quaffable.
Prosit!!

On-tap 9/2/07
AP: Golden Amber, totally clear, carbonation is very low, with almost no bubbles to speak of, the head is only a thin white covering that is gone pretty quickly.
Nose: Not alot of aroma...sweet, herbal lager yeast, honey-soaked bread malt, earthy-ish hop.
Flavor: a hearty sweet-wheat malt flavor and a decent balance of sweet yeast and green veggie hops. Pretty tame, and not very strong feeling with little to no heat.
Feel: Medium bodied, cask-like flatness and pretty lifeless.
DA: what's next....
