Attractive dark amber color, really sort of a mahogany hue. Has a fine, small creamy white head, and lots 'o lace. Nose, like their other biers, was mild, but roasty malt notes persist. Body and smoothness acquit themselves very well here. Nice flavors abound. Some malty, grainy flavors to start. A bit of roastiness, even nuttiness there. Hops are present at the end, too, but let the malt do most of the talking. The malty-nutty flavor becomes more pronounced as the bier warms. Prosit!!
