I was suprised to see upon the "Now serving" board at Elm city a brew called Oatmeal Pale Ale...what I got is exactly what I expected. A nice deep amber color with a decent, thin and light all-white head, doesn't last very long but leaves a nice bunch of lacing behind.
There's a nice combo of aroma's happening, mostly herbal wheat and oats, a creamy vanilla whiff gives it a smooth scent with some minor sweet malt and extra hop herbalness.
The flavor is a crisp, medium body wheat and an oatie herbalized tastes with a smooth vanilla edge that brings it all together, it's got the ellements of a smooth oatmeal brew and a crisp, herbal pale ale. This is a decent hybrid that is pretty unique.
This is a very drinkable brew from Bill Dunn, one of thre more enjoyable brew's I've had here in some time.
