330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet; Nettbutikken. ABV is 14%, IBU 30. Black colour, moderate beige head. Distinct aroma of oak, molasses, malts and alcohol, a hint of liquorice. Rich and warming mouthfeel. Complex, rich and pleasant malty sweet flavour, notes of oak, red wine, liquorice, brown kandij sugar and chocolate, moderate hops.

From the 11.2 fl oz bottle in a snifter. This unique brew pours a murky brown
with a nice head of khaki foam that settles to a thin ring, dusty light layer, and sports some
nice light lacing. Nose of boozy red wine, cherry, raisin, grape, oak, brandy, and faint leather
amongst layers of candy sugars and herbal spices. Flavors follow and surpass with an array
of flavors, brandy, vinous wine, oak, sherry, cherry, currant, blueberry, spices of cinnamon and
clove with hints of mace and sweet candy sugars. Leather and tobacco show with warmth as
does a literal spice cake. Mouth feel is medium, smooth, rich, warming, faint carbonation,
and a sweet spiced finish peppery with warming booze.
Overall-----one HUGE brew!
Cheers

Built as a Belgian Quadrupel Ale and then aged for nearly two years in red wine casks, this isn't you typical abbey ale.
Nogne O's mind numbing Skyscraper gets on a roll with an initially foamy rusty brown hue before falling relatively still under the weight of the vinous booze. A firm and spicy wine-like scent wraps around dark sugars, macerated fruit and yeast spices for that ultimate brandy-like tone. Sweet in its first impression, the malts seem of brown sugar, sorghum, port and toasted caramel.
The sweetness latches onto the tongue to set a sweet tone long term, meanwhile the fruit impressions of cherry, date, fig, currant, plum, blackberry, blueberry, raisin and prune all bring about a fruitcake medley. Not to be outdone a more nuanced collection of holiday spice bring a nutmeg, cinnamon, peppercorn, clove and allspice balance to the fruit. The barrel's nutty and vinous spices work with low level hops to balance the persistent malt sweetness and allows the taste to dry heading into finish.
Full bodied and highly complex, the beer's final frame is one of sherry and madeira with a certain port-like sweetness. The beer finishes malty-sweet and with a spicy aftertaste with slight woodsy bitterness in tow.
