Nordic Noir 2 is built around the wonderful chocolate malt from Norsk Malt at Ringsaker. With honey and juniper from Brekkestø and Kveik from Sigmund Gjernes in Voss, we have captured the taste of real Norwegian craftsmanship from raw materials to finished brew. Stored one year in the bottle before release for a rounded, fruity sweetness.

Look: It pours brown with a bit of clouding. It has an off white head with very low head retention.

Smell: There are aromas of malt that feature some chocolate and plums. There are some vinous like qualities to it. It also has hints of juniper and noticeable alcohol.

Taste: It is sweet in the flavor that was not that noticeable in the aroma. It has some chocolate notes with plums and raisins. It also has juniper and touches of honey. In addition there is a smoky element in the finish.

Feel: It has a full body and strong alcohol warming. Even though it is sweet, it has a dry finish.

Overall, There are a lot of flavors going on here, but it’s a touch sweet for me.

Dark, sort of dirty brown in color. Forced tan head that dissipates quickly. Nose is caramel but also tobacco but also dark candy, like horehound candy but also the alcohol comes through a bit on the nose. Taste is near identical to the nose. Slight bitterness builds but then yields to the warmth of the higher ABV.
