30 IBU. In Extremis is a powerful Belgian quadrupel that has matured for three years in American and French red wine barrels. The barrels add a slightly spicy and fruity touch of cranberry, blackberry and licorice.

330 ml bottle at an outrageous price, from Vinmonopolet Sandnes Kvadrat, also available at Nettbutikken. ABV is 18%, IBU 30. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of fusel alcohols, oak, coffee and dark berries. Fairly good flavour with the same elements, but less fusel, and fairly distinct notes of liquorice.
