A super nice brown beer, The color is a nice brownish, and the smell is very attractive.

I like the whitbeer, and like the brown. This porter, have something special. It is refreshing and the taste is nice in mouth.

I bought this one at my local liquor store. So I can get it again and again. The 5% ABV make it nice to dink

Opaque black color with strong glass clinging activity. Thick creamy brown 2 finger sparkling head, lasting around 5 to 10 minutes, with a good amount of legs.

Aromas of pleasant butterscotch. Flavors of cocoa, coffee, oak, nutty, roasted grains, herbal spices. Quite earthy with a strong syrupy feel, but still sharp.

Smooth thick body with prickly carbonation. Medium to strong finish, ending with a slight dry thick molassy feel with soft earthiness.

Overall decent quality craft with good flavors that are well intensified, but lacking some freshness. Very metallic at start but smooths out with some time. The feel is a little off though.

A: DEEP ruby red. 1 1/2 fingers of head that keeps and you can see all the tiny bubbles making its composition. Head is also a light brown colour.

S: Roasty smell with a slight fishy smell?!? Just can't put my finger on it as just a moment ago I thought it could be a slight detergent smell.

T: Roastiness is borderline "burned pot" in flavour. There are hints of dark chocolate and a slight hazelnut in the background. There is residual sweetness with an average -1 bitterness.

M: A bit too carbonated for my taste but it is within the profile. Seems a bit thin and watery.

O: I've enjoyed many Picaroons products but this one is not on my top list. It's ok but there are other porters I'd choose first. It's a must try though.

Large, rocky beige head. A cross between blanket and web-like lace. Dark brown color where bright light can pass...barely. It doesn't seem cloudy.

Powdered cocoa predominates the smell. There's a bit of chalk to the nose as well.

The taste leans toward dark chocolate, but there's a sourness that is similar to unripened stone fruit. The body is thin for a porter--the carbonation is high. The swallow features a small level of hop bitterness.
