Serving Type: 64 oz. Growler from the Picaroon's Brewtique!
A- Pours a reddish brown colour with 1 1/2 of white head that dissipates into a thin film fairly quickly. Lots of lacing on the glass.
S- Sweet and fragrant. Chocolate, black licorice, and a bit of caramel.
T- Lots going on here. Chocolate, licorice, ginseng, caramel and a spicy chili finish. The chili comes in as more of a tingle on the palate than a spicy heat. Wow.
M- Low Carbonation. Good heavy body. Could benefit from a bit more carbonation.
O- What a shame it is that Afterglow is only available a couple weeks out of the year. It's not only a beautiful looking beer, but the aroma and taste is extremely complex. If you didn't get to try it this year, do yourself a favour and get some next Valentines Day. Your palate will thank you!

One batch brewed every year for Valentine's Day.
Poured into Picaroons glass.
A - Pours a dark red, very little head, lacing around the edges.
S - Sweet smelling, bit of chocolate, caramel.
T - Yumm! Complex. Sweet chocolate up front which gives way to subtle ginseng, licorice root, finally giving way to a great spicy aftertaste which lingers forever.
M - Not a lot of carbonation, bit flat on the palette.
O - Overall, a great brew by hometown heroes Picaroons. The smell and especially taste are complex and fun. Only lasts for a week or so a year, so get it when you can!
