L- Deep amber with something of a copper-brown hue. Pours with a 5mm head that's holding well (ps still there and 3mm high 15mins later = unusually great retention).
S- Very mild, just some grains.
T- Like a quite somewhat mild tasting version of the trad bitters I was weaned on in the 1970s. A vague fruit note though it's fleeting and I can't pin it down. Some toasted grains into a slightly hoppier dry than average finish.
F- Light, clean, refreshing. Would be eminently sessionable.
O- Lable refers to 'this golden best-bitter'. Interesting, down south you see the 'bitter' or 'best bitter' beers rarely these days. It seems to have been usurped by 'Golden Ale(s)' a lighter and hoppier sub-genre of the bitter style instead. This is a decent, well put together though somewhat unexciting beer. Would be good a good choice for somewhat more mature/trad ale drinkers.
500ml bottle, bought as part of a 3-pint/3-styles gift-pack from the Railway Museum in York. BBE: Nov-20

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
