Tasted at the Queens Arms, Basingstoke; served by a non-sparkler hand-pull in a straight imperial pint glass.
A: dark yellow-ish straw in colour with a tinge of haze; fluffy white head retreats leaving pretty tight lacing behind.
S: a very mild aroma is detected, hinting at random floral hoppiness & very very light maltiness, with a faint touch of stinky hay in the background.
T: refreshing, lightly floral-hoppy & lightly salty at the same time, underlined by a clean+grainy palate of pale-coloured malts, leaving a dried-citrus-peel like and mineral-ish chewy undertone in the aftertaste. Not dry or bitter, but a certain degree of clean palate is retained.
M&D: very soft in carbonation, a bit insufficient at times for such a light flavoured ale, although the beer never really goes down the palate&throat as thin. This blond ale could benefit from a bit more input of more hops and a fresher condition.
