22oz bottle poured into a snifter
A-pours deep black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki colored head that reduces to a ring around the edge
S- heavy cinnamon on the nose, undertones of charred malt, chocolate and just a hint of bourbon. Cinnamon dominates overall
T- taste follows the nose with cinnamon popping through immediately. Behind the cinnamon, undertones of earthy coffee and oaky bourbon, the finish is more cinnamon with a linger of cinnamon and bourbon
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish
O- so much cinnamon, it tends to overpower the other ingredients. I enjoy cinnamon, but for most this would be too much

Appearance: Pours pitch black with a thin mocha cap; decent retention; leggy with a strip of lace
Smell: Roast, dark chocolate, coffee and cinnamon; vague hint of Bourbon
Taste: Roast, coffee and dark chocolate forward, with cinnamon building; the cinnamon brings some heat, after the swallow, and overwhelms the subtle tones of the Bourbon
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; seems a bit thinner than the others in the series
Overall: This beer has its detractors and, while it is my least favorite in the series, I still think it is pretty darn good

This is a blunt object battering ram of cinnamon and coffee, with a healthy dose of honey sweetness for further bludgeoning. I dunno. I get that people are into gigantic flavor right now, but this was just way too much for me, super dischordant, the honey, almost maple-like in its presentation, at odds with the coffee bitterness, the cinnamon just flying around and creating chaos all across the palate. Looks the part, and the body isn't the worst (a little sticky/slick, but are you really surprised), but the nose/palate are ultimately just too wild a ride for this reporter.

Bottle dated 9/08/16 poured into two tulips. Pour is dark, thick and an inch of tan head that slowly fades! No light coming through and spotted lacing when consumed. Initial smell is bourbon and fireballs. As it warms the barrel character starts to shine but lots of cinnamon which kind of overpowers the dark malts and coffee. Now the taste is a bit different, at first I get cinnamon (dahh), then subtle coffee, followed by bourbon. As I sip the roasted malts come in mid palate. The feel is medium and a tad slick, bitterness in the back which is either from the coffee or cinnamon! Overall I enjoy cinnamon and a lighter BA stout, so I really enjoyed this as it shows in my ratings. Cheers!

Tan head. Black in color.
This beer tastes like red hots. Some chocolate and bourbon, but mainly cinnamon. Not much else can be found
Medium to full bodied. With some roast.
Not impressed.
