Sampled from draught at Borefts 2019. Pours a very dark brown color (but not entirely black) and a brownish head. Aroma's: umami, wood, salty even, sweetish, roast. Retronasal it's sweetish, wood, salty, dark chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet, dark chocolate, mocha. Medium bodied. Long finish with tones of coffee, moderate bitter.

Bottled on 10/01/18.Pours into a snifter jet black with a full one finger creamy mocha colored head atop.Rich rum aromas with underlying chocolate and graham cracker, just rich and warming.Thick and velvety feel, just glides down with ease leaving a mouth coating in its wake.Vanilla tinged rum up front on the palate followed by deep chocolate and raisin notes, there is a deep sweetness but it never gets cloying.Rich and decadent Sabtos what were you thinkin man?!

Was not a fan of this one, as the molasses really is a dominant factor here, with a sort of herbal character but also bringing ginger snaps over the chocolatey base via a fizzy but thin body that has a bit of a milky, almost cheesy aftertaste.

Appearance: Arrives pitch black with a one finger tan head; spotty lacing
Smell: Chocolate fudge, rum raisin and molasses
Taste: Chocolate fudge and rum raisin forward with the honey and molasses blending to produce a complex sweetness; the rum barrel flavors build, after the swallow
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: The best of this year's Spectrum series; as with all of them the barrel was handled deftly but the rum barrel worked well with the molasses and honey
